Indians Are Giving Up Theirs Lives For A Biometric ID Card

Finger prints and eye scans are now being collected, by force, in the largest biometric database in the world in India. Civil liberties groups say it violates privacy.  Supporters claim the new system will make corruption more difficult and give better access to the welfare state.  Opposition says this will only make an overbearing state and greater powers to abuse.  The people of India have been hood-winked into thinking a more efficient and less corrupt state outweighs any concerns of intrusion.  Most of them don’t even realize they are signing their life away by use of “biometric ID cards”.
